a - Grade 134a - Hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) propellant.
b - Grade CO2 - Carbon dioxide (CO2) propellant.
1.3 Part or identifying number (PIN). PINs to be used for compounds acquired to this
specification are created as follows:
M81309 - X X X
Grade (134a = Grade 134a; CO2 = Grade CO2)
Class (1 = class 1; 2 = class 2)
Type (C = Type I, A = Type II , B = Type III)
Military specification designation
Example: A type II, class 2, Grade CO2 compound will be designated as follows:
M81309-A2CO2
2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS

specification. This section does not include documents cited in other sections of this
specification or recommended for additional information or as examples. While every effort has
been made to ensure the completeness of this list, document users are cautioned that they must
